Isle of Palms Marina to Dewees loop trip. About 7 miles. 

Rating:   L1, Sheltered, Slow pace

This trip was planned so new paddlers from the Kayak Festival can immediately paddle with the club.  Non-members sign a waiver and pay $5 to cover insurance).

High tide is about 11.  Meet at Isle of Palms Marina at 9:00; launch at 9:30.  $5 fee for cars, $10 for trailers.  Arrive in time to pay and launch on time.

Charleston harbor, Wappoo Cut to Battery then on to Sunrise park loop trip. About 9 miles.    
Rating: L3. Open water, smooth pace (Could change to L2 if winds are low)   


Low tide at Fort Sumter is 11:45. Meet at Wappoo Cut boat landing at 9:00 and launch at 9:30.

Paddlers are encouraged to camp at Santee State park on Friday. Everyone, campers and those who do not camp will meet at the rest stop on I-95 just past the Santee exits (this is the rest area before you cross the bridge over the lakes). Meet at the rest area at 9:30, leave at 9:45 and proceed to the swamp.

Low tide at Bennetts Point is 9:30 and high tide at Brickyard is 4:00 PM. Meet at BP gas station in Jacksonboro (intersection of HWY 17 and HWY 64) at 9, leave at 9:15 for Brickyard Landing.

Rating: L1, Smooth pace, sheltered. 


High tide at Bulow landing is about noon. Meet at Bulow Landing at 11AM and launch at 11:15. In case of inclement weather, could move the trip to Sunday and all times would be 1 hour later…meet at noon.

High tide at Still Landing is about 10:30AM.  Meet at the Kangaroo Station (Hwy 17) in McClellanville at 8:15AM, leave at 8:30 and proceed to Wambaw Creek bridge.

Lynches River Car Camping.  About 11 miles.

Rating: L2 Smooth pace, sheltered (L2 due to distance)

Arrive Friday evening at Lynches River County Park (about 15 miles south of Florence).  Set base camp. On Saturday, paddle 15 miles downriver to Indigo Landing. Commercial shuttle back to base camp at county park. (You will need to pay for the shuttle.  Bring cash.).   Note: Launch time Saturday is 9:30 at the county park, so non campers can leave Charleston in time to do a 2 ¼ hour drive                           Ken McDowell

Meet at the Piggly Wiggly in Moncks Corner at the intersection of Hwy 17A and Hwy 6 at 10. Depart for boat landing at 10:15.
