We "desperately" need a trip leader for the Black River trip this Saturday, Sep 16.
This trip has not been scouted, so it will be a real adventure. If you are willing to lead on an adventure, please email me ASAP so the trip will have a trip leader. (i's going on vacation.so I am unavailable. (Do retied people actually go on vacation from retirement?)
I plan to cancel the trip on Thursday afternoon if I do not get a volunteer. It is an L2 trip because of the distance....but anyone who is a regular paddler could lead it, we just need someone to be responsible..
We get folks to sign up as trip leaders as we set the schedule for the next 6 moths. Our commitment to folks who sign up is that if anything comes up so they cannot lead, they just need to let me know and they ate "off the hook". When that happens, we ask others to step forward. That is why I sent an email yesterday looking for a trip leader for the Wambaw Creek trip on Sep 30.

Black River, Pump House (Reds) Landing to Pea House Landing. About 10 miles.
Non-club members and member guests must contact the trip leader before the trip. Boat type, size, and paddling skills should be discussed with the trip leader.
Meet at Pump House Landing at 11:00. Put Mulch Trail, Andrews in your mapping app. It is on HWY 41, 2.25 miles from Main Street in Andrews. If your cross the Black River, turn around and go back ½ mile. Landing is on Redds Landing Road. Unload boats and run a shuttle to Pea House Landing. (NOT Pine Tree Landing which comes before Pea House landing).
