Rating: L1 (One way) L2 (Both ways) Open Water,
Where; Meet at Spires Landing (Put Spiers Landing Boat Ramp in your mapping app) at 9:15. and run shuttle to Blacks Landing (if required). Hopefully Launch before 10:00. Logistics: Bring money and plan to eat at Blacks Fish Camp. Plan to be back at the landing no later than 4:00.
Trip Leader: Leslie Maples
Note 1: The highlight of this trip is paddling through the canal from one lake to the next. The canal is about 4 miles long.
Note 2; Three is a current running from Lake Marion to Lake Moultrie through the canal. We’ll be paddling against the current on the way back.
Note 3: If there are paddlers who opted NOT to shuttle and decide to only go 1 way because of the current in the canal, they can join up with the others at Blacks Landing and get shuttled back to Spires.
Note 4: If doing the round trip, think of it as 2 two 7-mile paddles.
