I reserved site #25 at Santee State Park, May 17 - 19, 2024 for the Sparkleberry adventure.

Even if you are a "Maybe" please don't hesitate to reserve now.  If you cancel 60+ days before arrival there is NO charge. A cancellation 15 - 59 days will only cost you $10.  The senior citizen discount is substantial.

If anyone wants to plan a trip to Lake Jocassee in 2024, please email me directly. Please tell me your two or three preferred dates and I will compile the numbers and see what happens.  I am also interested in going to Florida.

The same cancellation rules apply to the Devil's Fork campground at Lake Jocassee.  We have to reserve early or the campground will be filled.  I know that it is November but this campground fills up well in advance .

Just received a comment that the campground is half filled up.

You really should make a reservation now if you think you might want to camp.

Great News!

Michelle Lichtsinn has volunteered to be trip leader.

Billy Self has volunteered to be camp coordinator.

A few have told me that folks should go ahead and get their Santee State Park reservations done. (plus..it is easy to cancel if you do it some time in advance if your plans do change.)

It might be good for folks with reservations to contact Billy so he has a good idea who will be there and he can make others aware of what sites paddlers are in. His email is: bselfsc@gmail.com

it's great to be a LowCountry paddler!

Ralph E.

We have scheduled the Sparkleberry Swamp paddle and campout for the weekend of May 18.

We do not have a trip leader or camp coordianteor yet, but you mihg want to consider getting camping reservations at Santee State park soon so you can be sure you get a space.

If someone from the club who has done the trip will volunteer to be trip leader, please contact me directly.

Also need a volunteer for Camp Coordinator to contact me directly. Camo coordinator job is very flexible and is self-defining, but the one "must do" requirement is to get the campers moving on Saturday morning in time to meet at the Rest Stop on I-95 at 10.

Details are below.
