See you on the water,
Ken McDowell, President, Lowcountry Paddlers
Members of the Lowcountry Paddlers share a common interest in paddling the coastal waters, rivers, creeks, swamps, and lakes of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Experience levels vary from Beginner to Expert while boats range from Sit-on-Tops to Expedition Sea Kayaks. We plan numerous trips throughout the year with the latest schedule posted on the Events and Trips Calendar. Please review the important and necessary information posted on About Our Trips page. Our paddling trips are open to ADULTS only. Visitors are welcome, see our policy at the following link: Be Our Guest!
Members of the club also plan Show-n-Go paddles. These gatherings are not official club events, but rather impromptu get-togethers that may occur weekdays, at night, away from the immediate area, etc. Sign-up is not required; just “Show up at the launch aNd Go.” Members can post them on the Forums Page at the Show and Go link on the menu.
Meetings: We hold monthly meetings, plus occasional social events, throughout the year. Our monthly meetings, held on the third Monday, are informal, open to non-members and guests, and a great way to learn about the Club and meet our members. We have a guest speaker from 7:00pm to 8:00pm, followed by a short session of club business. Meetings generally conclude by 8:30 p.m. Join us at a meeting or on a paddle and see for yourself what we are all about.
Meetings are held at:
Providence Baptist Church
294 Seven Farms Drive
Daniel Island, SC 29492
Instruction & Equipment: The club provides neither equipment nor instruction. For instruction, we encourage every paddler, from novice to expert, to avail themselves of the many excellent courses offered by the Charleston County Parks. For equipment, please visit the retailers & outfitters listed on our Links page.
NEW Lowcountry Paddlers members will receive a free Intro to Kayaking class coordinated through Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission's Paddlesports Program!** Contact a Club Officer for more information!
